The 5th International Scientific Conference and the 17th Annual Conference of the College of Media at the University of Baghdad, under the sponsorship of Warith Al-Anbiyaa University (Peace Be Upon Him),
On 12/2/2024, the Dean of the College of Media at Warith Al-Anbiyaa University (Peace Be Upon Him), Dr. Mohammed Gaml Al-Taif, affirmed that the words of the representative of the Higher Religious Authority, Sheikh Abdul Mahdi Karbala’i, who said, "The impossible can become possible, and the possible becomes a tangible reality," have become a vision for Warith Al-Anbiyaa University.
In his speech during the activities of the 5th International Scientific Conference and the 17th Annual Conference of the College of Media at the University of Baghdad, held under the title "Media, Communication Technology, and Their Role in Enhancing Dialogue Between Civilizations," and hosted by Warith Al-Anbiyaa University, he stated: "Firstly, I must express gratitude and thanks to the Presidency of Baghdad University, the Dean of the College of Media, the administrative and academic staff, for their fruitful efforts and their earnest pursuit in supporting and guiding scientific research efforts, and for bearing the burden of organizing this important conference in its topic, timing, place, objectives, and expected intellectual impact."
He added, "We are pleased, as the Presidency of Warith Al-Anbiyaa University (Peace Be Upon Him) and the Dean of the College of Media, to be part of this great scientific event and its creators and sponsors, in collaboration with entities recognized for excellence in the contemporary Iraqi scene."
He further said, "Today’s meeting at this scientific edifice represents a valuable opportunity to embody the deep conviction that media is not only the voice of the present but also a bridge that extends across time and space, carrying a message of understanding and convergence between nations and peoples."
He pointed out that "media in our current era has proven to be more than just a channel for news and information; it is a powerful tool capable of building bridges of communication between different cultures and civilizations. Through media, we can break down barriers, overcome stereotypes, and promote the values of tolerance and mutual respect."
He explained, "We live in a world full of challenges and crises, and to confront them, we must believe in the power of dialogue and communication."
He clarified that "media has the capacity to stimulate civilizational dialogue and support understanding among people from different cultural and religious backgrounds. Therefore, we all must endeavor to employ this power positively and constructively, benefiting from modern communication technology to spread the values of peace and coexistence."
He emphasized that "a lofty title and a striking slogan for a conference of this scale, importance, and amidst the difficult circumstances faced by nations, peoples, civilizations, and cultures of all kinds, should convene in Baghdad—city of peace and love—and in its venerable university. On the other hand, it places upon us all a doubled responsibility to organize, succeed, and present it in the most distinguished image befitting it and us."
He continued, "The representative of the Higher Religious Authority, Sheikh Abdul Mahdi Karbala’i, said that 'the impossible can become possible, and the possible becomes a tangible reality,' which has become a vision for Warith Al-Anbiyaa University (Peace Be Upon Him). From here, I place myself and my colleagues without exception as true supporters and eternal sponsors in any form of science, knowledge, and enlightenment, lighting the way for efforts in media with its diverse means and communication technology with its multiple modes to enhance and deepen dialogue based on equality and integration among different human civilizations."
He concluded, "I wish this conference, its organizers, and participants to reach genuine scientific outcomes that bear fruit and resonate both theoretically and practically. I also extend my thanks and appreciation to the scientific, preparatory, supporting committees, and all supporting entities. I repeat my gratitude and thankfulness for the leadership of Baghdad University, the Dean of the College of Media, and all participants present in person or through social media platforms. I commend you all and highly value this solid scientific achievement."
